Highway

Highway – A Journey Of Breakthrough Treasure

Read, share and spread
Take me to the road unknown
Where the beauty meets the gravity drone
The roads can be seen afar
The leaves are fluttering with power
Scar beauty tells the story of its survival
Moving vehicles reflect the urgency of time cycle
I took a pause and behold around
Perceive the surroundings and the patched ground
Capturing the scene in the lens of eye camera
I pack my bag and move towards the silent sound
Because It was not just a journey but an expedition of a Highway not well known

A traveller and explorer at heart, I believe in taking roads unknown. Less travelled paths are usually filled with mysterious and unexpected turns, challenging crest and unexplored trough ( remember waves crest and trough, that’s Physics my dear). They give you a chance to find your hidden strength inside you. Away from the bright glare of everyone’s eyes the concrete path looks tranquil and uncomplicated but the fear of falling between cracks always looms once you enter the obscure lane. But this time I decided to change my track and do things differently.

Highway: The Perception

While on my way to some historical, archaeological site I decide to take a highway road. Yes, those concrete roads without traffic shorten the distance between any two destinations. Those monolith trails with no time to wait, pause and be careless as a small mistake can endanger lives. Stopping for a while to have some energy, suddenly a thought stuck in my mind. Did these highways have anything to behold? They are concrete construction done to make people’s lives easy and hassle-free. What’s so different that my mind wants me to focus on? What’s so unique about them that they are called Highways.

Looking around and perceiving things closely I wonder why I was not able to comprehend things at first glance? Introspection and a little bit of pause allow me to understand the woven threads they hold. Highways are not just concrete expressways; they connect non-identical destinations of dissimilar ethnicity, culture, religion and communities. They bear the scars they suffer when a reckless driver hits the safety barrier. The beauty around them has been shaved to support them. A faded blood strain imprint on them tells of a victim’s trauma or survival. The joy on the face of a pillion rider whose attention is captivated by the screen of the smartphone as here some traffic rules can be broken. The fast movements of vehicles who have no time to pause and make a call of emergency to prevent the mortality but yes to bypass unaffected only to read the news of that death as the highlight of some newspaper the next day. Highways are more than just a cement structure; they encase aggregates of various sizes and shapes highlighting the importance and necessity of each particle for the overall stability of the structure.

The Resemblance With Life

Life is a highway without a test drive

Just like highways are an interconnected pathway and a turn we take decides the destination we will reach in the same way life is a series of interconnected crossroads and decisions that we make ultimately draw our journey map. It is these big decisions that make the biggest impact on our lives.

interconnected pathway

Highways have ingredients like potholes, pit stops, curves, sights which make the journey either easier or full of challenges. In the same way, life has components like sorrow, joy, money, success, failure etc. Each has its own importance and worth. At first, it may seem as if they are disturbing the very structure of our existence; however, at the end of the process, we realize that these components were needed for us to reexamine ourselves, the world around us and develop a new perception of ourselves.

The Outcome/ Learnings

Well, this journey of the highway taught me many things. The art of assimilating every human that I encounter in my life because everyone has something to give me whether bad or good, experience or moments, stories or events. The front view is important when you lead forward and the rear view is essential when you return. The front view reflects the challenges you imbibe and the rear view exhibits the odds you embrace.

Emotions have been replaced by emojis. Moments are now captured in digital mode instead of absorbing in the camera of an individual eye. We travel through these pathways to different lands but we fail to connect with the people on the other side of these highways stand. We engineered the art of advanced technology but failed to learn the art of connecting hearts in human terminology.

I will just conclude by saying – Life is a highway and family, friends, and teachers are just trainers that teach us how to drive it. When we encounter a bump or pitfall that’s where our true learning starts and how we react to this unprecedented turn and come out with a solution that what’s makes us a good, learned and wise drivers. Such drivers know how to handle each storm with audacity and have a safe passage.

Life is a highway and I wanna ride it all night long.

  2. I would like to say that , it was really fantastic , the way you interpret all the significant & concealed features of highways and correlated with pragmatic life of human being is tremendously mind-blowing. Each and every word from your pen having own value , if someone try to understand this editorial, it would be really helpful them to make better understanding with such kind of things. Hat’s off you.🙏
